| 2/27/03 3-D ModelI made some progress on the SolidWorks 3-D modeling. These are preliminary and are subject to change. As shown the parts weigh 15.9 lbs. Click on the image preview to enlarge the image. The transparent box is modeled as 1/4" thick polycarbonate. The batteries shown represent 2.400 Ah 12V NiCd sub C sized bundles from BattlePack. The motor mounts and hubs are available from CNCBotParts.com. Obviously the EV Warrior weight is putting me over the 12 lb limit. The circle shown is the 15" diameter for an eight gallon beer keg to spin. I think this could work for the guts of a 30 lb robot, It will most likely be called Blunt Force Trauma. I need to model the receiver, receiver battery, battery hold down strap, disconnect switch, and Deans antenna. I may also ask for design help from Brian Nave of Team Logicom the builder of Phrisbee and Phrisbee Ultimate. I guess I hijacked my own thread! As far as Compound Fracture is concerned I will need to find a new weapon motor that is about 2 lbs and hopefully 1 Hp. I know that is asking a lot from the weight. I think I will look into the Lehner motor that was used on Solaris by Pete Covert from Team Cosmos. Copyright ® 2003 Barry Anderson |
