We took a new robot to BotBash 2002. Since we only entered one robot I will only report on that weight class. Worm Incinerator was based on the Worm Burner concept design. The main changes were weight reduction. Due to lighter batteries. We saved 8 lbs. The weapon motor went from 8lbs to an EV Warrior that weights about 4lbs. All these reductions in weight allowed me to foam the tires and add a little strength to the welding. Here are the robots in the 120 lb weight class. Each photo takes about one minute to download with a 56k modem. To see download a video of Karcass and Worm Incincerator versus Aconite and All Weather Tire Bot click here. It takes about 20 minutes to to download this video using a 56k modem. Worm Incinerator fought 7 matches and lost 3 times. It was a double elimination format with primarily two events, soccer and annihilater. It was really great to fight 7 matches in 2 days. The results from BotBash 2002 in the 120 lb weight class were as follows;
Points were accumulated as follows: 1) If you accomplished the goal of the round - 3 points 2) If you won a round by judges decision - 2 points 3) If you lost the round but were in the arena - 1 point If you had losses left at the end of an event, you received the following points - 2 points for having two losses left, 1 point for having one loss left This applied for Capture the Flag, if you didn't compete in the Capture the Flag tournament (due to being benched the first round) you automatically received 2 points and then the normal system applied.
